Abstract:

The aim of this study is to develop a Likert-type scale to determine how teachers and candidate teachers perceive the status of the teaching profession. The research shows an imaginary characteristic in the scan model. The sample of the study was formed by 319 participants for Opening Factor Analysis (AFA), 960 participants for Verifying Factor Analysis (DFA). The study applied to the expert opinion on the scale scale validity (KGO), and in the second stage the scale structure validity for the scale was implemented by the Opening Factor Analysis (AFA) and the Verification Factor Analysis (DFA) to verify the scale factor structure. The AFA resulted in a structure consisting of 25 substances and 3 factors, which describes 39,298 percent of the total variance. The factors that appear are called “The value of the teacher and teacher’s profession” (ÖMMD), “The importance given to the teacher’s profession” (ÖMVÖ) and “The facts affecting the teacher’s profession” (ÖMEH). The overall Cronbach Alpha reliability ratio of the scale is calculated as .855. Furthermore, independent groups for scale security t-test results found that substances and factors are distinguishing between the groups of 27% below and above; the substance total and the substance remaining correlation values are meaningful. The correlation ratio between the factors has been found meaningful for the entire scale. The three-factor structure obtained with AFA has been tested with DFA. According to the conformity index, the recommended three-factor structure has been verified. According to the analysis, the scale has the necessary psychometric properties.
