Çeviri eylemi, günümüzde bireyleri ve toplumları birbirine yakınlaştıran ve aralarında iletişimin ve diyalogun kurulmasını sağlayan bir etkinliktir. Çeviri eleştirisi, çevirilerin kalitesini artırması bakımından çeviri biliminde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Orhan Hançerlioğlu, eserlerinin yanı sıra kişiliği, yaşam tarzı ve sahip olduğu kültürle Türk Edebiyatının önemli kişileri arasında yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmada ilk olarak Orhan Hançerlioğlu ve eseri hakkında kısa bilgi verilmesinin ardından Gürcüceye çevrilen “Ali” adlı eserini, Gideon Toury’nin “Erek Odaklı Çeviri Kuramı” çerçevesinde incelenecektir. Gideon Toury’nin teorisine göre çeviri erek kültür için yapılmaktadır. Yapılan kuramsal çalışmalarda en sık rastlanan problemlerden biri de kaynak metin ile erek metin arasında “eşdeğerlik” olarak dile getirilen karşılıklı bağıntıdır. Eşdeğerlik açısından çeviri metni, kaynak metnin normlarına daha yakınsa “yeterli çeviri”; erek metnin normlarına yakınsa “kabul edilebilir” çeviri olarak belirtilmiştir. Çalışmamızda “Ali / ალი” adlı eserin Gürcüceye nasıl aktarıldığı ele alınacak olup, yapılan çevirinin Gideon Toury’nin ‘Erek Odaklı Çeviri Kuramı’na göre “yeterli” mi yoksa “kabul edilebilir” mi olduğunu gözlemleyeceğiz. Çalışmamızda özgün dili Türkçe olan eserin Gürcü diline nasıl aktarıldığını ve bu aktarım şekillerini değerlendirilip çevirmenin yaratıcılığıyla ne ölçüde harmanlayarak ele alabildiğini ortaya çıkarma amacı güdülmüştür. Çalıştığımız eser, yazınsal bir ürün olduğu için bu tür metinlerin çevirisinde içerik ve biçimin bir bütün olduğu ve metinlerin anlamsal eşdeğerliği bakımından da dikkate alınmıştır.

Translation is an activity that brings individuals and societies closer to each other and enables communication and dialogues to be established between them. Translation criticism has an important place in translation science in terms of increasing the quality of translations. Orhan Hançerlioğlu is among the important figures of Turkish Literature with his personality, lifestyle and culture as well as his works. In this study, firstly, brief information about Orhan Hançerlioğlu and his work is given, and his work "Ali", which was translated into Georgian, is examined within the framework of Gideon Toury's "Target-Oriented Translation Theory". According to Gideon Toury's theory, translation is done for the target culture. One of the most common problems encountered in theoretical studies is the mutual relationship between the source text and the target text, which is expressed as "equivalence". If the translated text is closer to the norms of the source text in terms of equivalence, it is called an “adequate” translation; if it is close to the norms of the target text, it is called an “acceptable” translation. In the study, it will be discussed how the work named "Ali / ალი" was transferred to the Georgian language and it will be determined whether the translation is "adequate" or "acceptable" according to Gideon Toury's Target-Oriented Translation Theory. In the study, it is aimed to evaluate how the work, whose original language is Turkish, was transferred to the Georgian language, to assess these transfer forms, and to reveal to what extent the translator could handle the translation by blending it with his creativity. Considering the aforementioned work is a literary work, the fact that the content and form are a whole in the translation of literary texts and the semantic equivalence of the texts are taken into consideration.
