Abstract:

The aim of this research is to study the impact of the laboratory applications based on the Scientific Process Skills (BSB) on the BSB self-capacity belief of teachers candidates. In the research, the latest test experiment-control group model from the experimental research patterns was used. The sample of the research is made up of a total of 61 teachers candidates with scientific knowledge studying in the 3rd grade of a university’s educational faculty located in the eastern Black Sea region. As a data collection tool, the BSB self-confidence scale developed by Karslı, Shahin & Ayas (2016) has been used. The BSB self-sufficiency belief scale is a 5 likert type scale and consists of 47 substances and 13 factor structure. The measurement factors are defined in the form of "not observing", "classing", "registering data", "measureing", "use number space relationships", "predicting", "interpreting data", "resulting", "defining variables", "creating graphic model", "changing and controlling variables", "hypothesis" and "do experimenting". Experts have been asked for the validity of the scale. A verifying factor analysis for the structural validity of the measurement has been made. The Cronbach Alfa reliability ratio for the scale was 0.91. In the statistical analysis of the data, the independent t-test used for non-related samples using the SPSS 23.0 statistical program through the scores that the teacher candidates received from the latest tests. The study found that there was no significant difference between the BSB self-confidence scale average points of the groups in which both the BSB-based laboratory approach was applied and the existing laboratory approach was applied.
