Abstract:

Health at working life differs according to individual characteristics, environment, working conditions and organizational features. In this review, it was aimed to evaluate the disadvantaged groups and the risks they face in the working life. Just as inequalities affect indicators of health status, those indicators are also related to the formation of inequalities. Disadvantaged groups in the working life appear as women, the disabled, children, the older adults, migrant workers and ex-convicts. These disadvantaged groups are exposed to discrimination in the process of finding a job, working and leaving the job with the effect of neoliberal policies. This situation negatively affects the health status and quality of life of the employees within the disadvantaged group. In an employee-centered occupational health and safety policy, it is the state's responsibility to ensure the health and social security of the employees, and it is seen that the health of the employees is better when the services related to occupational health and safety are carried out by the public and in accordance with the principles of the social state. It is important to establish special policies regarding the disadvantaged groups that make up a significant part of the population, and to protect employees against all kinds of discrimination after they are hired as well as hiring them.
