Ticks are blood-sucking ektoparazitesthat can spread more in the every kind of climate and especially tropical areas. This study was performed to investigate ticks species on sheep and cattle around Kayseri between January and November 2002 in total 16 different residential areas that include 5 villages belonging to the center of Kayseri, 5 belonging to the center of borough and 6 villages belonging to borough. During the study 1245 sheep and 512 cattle were examined for tick infestation. 263 (%21) of sheep and 87 (%17) of cattle were infested with ticks naturally. A total of 2064 adult ticks were collected from the infested animals. The collected 2064 adult ticks were identified as Rhipicephalus turanicus, R.sanguineus, R.bursa, Hyalomma.a.anatolicum, H.a.excavatum, H.detritum, Haemaphysalis sulcata, Hae.parva, Dermacentor marginatus, Boophilus annulatus and Ornithodoros lahorensis using stereo microscope
