Değerler, geçmişten günümüze milli ve manevi kaynakların nesilden nesile aktarıldığı mirastır. Okullarda bilgi, beceri ve davranışların öğretim programlarıyla kazandırılma sürecinde konuların değerler ile ilişkilendirilmesi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı ilkokul dördüncü sınıf Türkçe ders kitabında yer alan değerleri öğrenme alanlarına göre incelemektir. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesine göre desenlenmiştir. Bu kapsamda 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı ilkokullarda okutulan 4. sınıf Türkçe ders kitabı veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı doğrultusunda ilkokul ders kitabında yer alan on kök değer betimsel analiz tekniği ile analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde ve bulguların yorumlanmasında Milli Eğitim Bakanlığının 2018 yılında hazırlanan öğretim programlarında yer alan on kök değer ölçüt alınmıştır. Bu değerler; adalet, dostluk, dürüstlük, öz denetim, sabır, saygı, sevgi, sorumluluk, vatanseverlik ve yardımseverlik olarak belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgularda Türkçe ders kitabında her değerin yer aldığı belirlenmiştir. Öğrenme alanları açısından değerler kullanım sıklığına göre sırasıyla sorumluluk, sabır ve yardımseverlik olarak belirlenmiştir. Ders kitabında bazı kök değerlere yeterince yer verilmediği ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu araştırmada ilkokul öğrencilerinin bireysel ve akademik gelişimlerinde önemli yeri olan değerlerin ayrıntılı incelemesi yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak ders kitaplarında bazı kök değerlere yeterince yer verilmediği anlaşılmıştır. Bu sonuç bağlamında gelecekteki araştırmalarda ders kitaplarının kök değerler açısından iyileştirilmesine yönelik çalışmalara ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.
Values are the phenomena from which spiritual and national resources are transferred from generation to generation from past to present. It is of great importance to associate the subjects with values in the process of acquiring knowledge, skills and behaviors through curricula in schools. The aim of this study is to examine the values in the fourth grade Turkish textbook according to the themes. The research was designed according to document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods. In this context, the 4th grade Turkish textbook taught in primary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Turkey in the 2021-2022 academic year were used as a data collection tool. In line with the purpose of the research, the ten root values in the primary school Turkish textbook were analyzed with the descriptive analysis technique. In the interpretation of the findings and data analysis, ten root values in the curriculum prepared by the Ministry of National Education in 2018 were used. These values are; justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism and helpfulness. In the findings obtained, it was determined that every value is included in Turkish textbooks. In terms of themes, values were determined as responsibility, patience and helpfulness, respectively, according to the frequency of use. It has been determined that some root values are not included enough in the textbook. In this study, a detailed examination of the values that have an important place in the individual and academic development of primary school students was made. As a result, it has been understood that some root values are not included enough in the textbooks. In the context of this result, there is a need for studies to improve textbooks in future research.
