Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the problems that teachers experience in the distance education process and the solutions they find to these problems. The study was conducted with the phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research methods. The study group of the research consists of 13 teachers working in the central district of Düzce in the 2022-2023 academic year. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview form. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis technique. According to the findings obtained from the research, the problems faced by teachers in distance education; communication-related problems, problems arising from low motivation, technology-related problems, student-related problems, other problems and socialization problems. Teachers stated that the solutions to the problems they experienced were technological material and infrastructure support, security measures, effective use of online communication platforms, teacher-parent cooperation, motivation, and taking health measures. Based on the results obtained from the research, suggestions were made to support disadvantaged students with technological opportunities, to use web 2 tools to make the lessons more interesting, to provide free WIFI service that allows common use in rural areas where internet access is difficult.
