Purpose: Cystic ekinoccosis (KE) is an important zoonosis for both human health and livestock, because it is very common in our country, especially in animals. In this study, the aim is to reverse the results of the indirect hemaglutination (IHA) test test in patient serums sent to the microbiology laboratory of our hospital with the KE phes. Methods: From January to December 2020, the presence of anti-E. granulosus immunoglobulin G antibodies in 1,607 patients has been studied in our laboratory. Patients’ socio-demographic characteristics and radiological data are obtained by scanning from the hospital automation system. Results: A total of 1,607 patients ranging from age 1-96 (age average 45,26±19,91) were 244 (%15,18) positive, 78 (%4,86) intermediate and 1,285 (%79,96) negative; 963 (%59,9) women, 644 (%40,1) men. According to the IHA test, the results of 1/320 and above were evaluated as positive. Compared with the radiological data of a hundred and sixty-four incidents with anti-E. granulosus IgG antibodies; in the radiological findings of the negative (1/80) 21 percent of the patients there are cystic injury in the liver, while in the 1/160 injury (value) 78 percent there are cystic injury in different areas. The result is that, while interpreting the serological results of patients, the inclusion in the evaluation of the vibration value as well as the clinical and radiological findings of the patient, if possible, with the use of another serological method such as ELISA, it is estimated that the diagnosis and treatment of KE patients can be supported.
