Education of children with diabetes should not only aim to improve children's skills, but also target behavioral change. Inorder for people to implement a behavior, not only must they have knowledge about the behavior, but alsotheperception of self-efficacy associated with the behavior must be strong. Bandura's Social Cognitive Learning Theorys heds light on the question of how to deliver education more effectively. Thetheory-basededucation program guides the selection of the right education methods, thus increasing the effectiveness of the support given by facilitating learning.
