Abstract:

Type 1 diabetes seen in childhood; It is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by insulin deficiency and hyperglycemia, which occurs when the beta cells of the pancreas are affected by autoimmune or non-autoimmune causes. When diabetes is manage deffectively, complications due to diabetes can be delayed and even prevented. Education of the person with diabetes; to support the individual in using the power of self-care. Diabetes education plays a key role in the management of the disease, the individual characteristics and learning skills of the children must be taken in to consideration in the education to be given to children. Education of children with diabetes should not only aim to improve children's skills, but also target behavioral change. Inorder for people to implement a behavior, not only must they have knowledge about the behavior, but alsotheperception of self-efficacy associated with the behavior must be strong. Bandura's Social Cognitive Learning Theorys heds light on the question of how to deliver education more effectively. Thetheory-basededucation program guides the selection of the right education methods, thus increasing the effectiveness of the support given by facilitating learning.
