Abstract For thousands of years the Guna people have made use of the plant resources found in their environment for their vital needs as the production of food, medicine, firewood, construction, crafts, dyes, among others. Their worldview of nature has allowed them to have a very intimate relationship with their natural context. Despite this relationship, the traditional knowledge associated with the uses of plants is being lost over the years. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to learn about the uses of plants and thus provide valuable information on the knowledge of the use of plant diversity in the Guna communities. For this purpose, a descriptive-transversal ethnobotanical research was carried out in 9 communities of the townships of Narganá and Corazón de Jesús, through open surveys and collection of samples of plant specimens.
