Purpose: First aid is one of the basic education subjects in all societies. This study was performed the efficiency of the three day long first aid training given to a state university security personnel. Material and Method: The complete list of the state university security personnel’s participation is assumed. Total of sixty participants divided into fifteen groups were trained in both the theoretical and the practical for the duration of three days (answer ratio was 80.2 %). Participants were also given a questionnaire form consisting of sixty-two questions before and after the training program. The datas were evaluated by the significance test of the difference between number, percentage and test significant difference between two percentages Findings: 76.7% of the participants were male, 78.3% were high school graduates, 73.3% were married and 36.7% of them were between twenty-eight and thirty-three years old. 53.3% of all the trainees had five years or more work experience. It was determined that 90% of the participants already had first aid training during their vocational education. 48.3% of participants faced cases on the job that required first aid care, 47.8% of the cases that required first aid care were fainting related. Although it was seen that participants’ knowledge level were increased after the training, there were no significant difference statistically between before and after training in terms of knowledge status. Conclusion: It’s been determined that the first aid training in limited duration will positively impact ones’ knowledge level and there was no statistically significant difference.
