Throughout history, the sexual division at work has forced a differentiation in the tasks to be performed by men and women and a differentiation of roles that remain today. According to the 2016 data of the Observatory of Occupations, (SEPE, 2016), the contact centers sector employs almost 100,000 workers in Spain, of which 73% are women. Through the ethnographic method, we took the case study of the contact centers workers, specifically in the community of Castilla y León to detect the possible causes of this accused feminization. The analysis of the results show that despite the advances in equality in Spanish society in recent years labor inequalities are still maintained and in some cases, like this, are increasing. In addition, very precarious work conditions are detected in this sector. Finally, we discover that men who work in it suffer the same low consideration and even greater stigma because they are socially considered as a non-masculine job.
