Tarımsal Yayım ve İletişim dersi; danışmanlık hizmetlerinde kullanılacak yöntem ve uygulamalar gibi teknik konuların yanı sıra kırsal toplum yapısı gibi sosyal konuları içermesi nedeniyle ziraat mühendisliği mesleğine, nitelikli bir danışman-üretici ilişkisine katkı sunabilecek bir derstir. Buna rağmen, ziraat fakültelerinin tarım ekonomisi bölümü dışındaki bölümlerinde bu ders tercih edilmemektedir. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye'de lisans düzeyinde verilen Tarımsal Yayım ve İletişim dersinin mevcut durumunun ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu maksatla 2022 yılı itibariyle 41 üniversitenin ziraat fakülteleri tam sayım örnekleme yöntemi ile çalışma kapsamına alınmıştır. Tarım Ekonomisi Bölümü dışındaki diğer bölümlerde dersin zorunlu işlenme oranı tarla bitkileri bölümünde %45, bahçe bitkileri bölümünde %28 ve hayvan bilimleri bölümünde %14 olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu sonuç, "Ziraat mühendisi" unvanına sahip birçok mezunun mezun oldukları bölümlerin müfredatlarında bu dersin bulunmamasından dolayı insan kaynaklarının önemini ve özelliklerini iyi anlamadan kariyerlerine başladıkları şeklinde yorumlanabilir. Bu eksikliğin telafi edilebilmesi için Tarımsal Yayım ve İletişim dersinin diğer birçok servis dersi gibi tüm bölümlerde zorunlu olarak okutulması gerektiği değerlendirilmektedir.
The course of Agricultural Publishing and Communication is a course that can contribute to the profession of agricultural engineering, a qualified consultant-producer relationship, because it includes technical subjects such as methods and practices to be used in consulting services as well as social subjects such as rural community structure. However, this course is not preferred in the departments outside the Department of Agricultural Economy of the Ziraat faculty. In this study, the aim is to reveal the current status of the Agricultural Publishing and Communication course given at the bachelor level in Turkey. With this purpose, by 2022 41 universities’ Ziraat faculties have been taken into the scope of work with the full number sample method. In other sections other than the Department of Agriculture Economy, the obligatory processing rate of the course is determined to 45% in the field plants, 28% in the garden plants and 14% in the animal sciences. This result can be interpreted as many graduates with the title "Ziraat Engineer" started their career without understanding the importance and characteristics of human resources due to the lack of this course in the curriculum of the departments they graduate. This deficiency is considered to be compulsory in all sections, such as many other service courses, in the course of Agricultural Publishing and Communication.
As it includes technical methods and practices to be used in consultancy services, along with the social subjects such as rural society structure, Agricultural Extension and Communication course can greatly contribute to the agricultural engineering profession with a qualified consultant-producer relationship. However, this course is not preferred by most departments in agricultural faculties other than the department of agricultural economics. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the current situation of the Agricultural Extension and Communication course given at the undergraduate level of education in Türkiye. For this purpose, as of the year 2022, agricultural faculties of 41 universities were included in the study with the complete enumeration sampling method. The inclusion rate of this course in curricula as compulsory course was determined to be 45%, 28% and 14% for the departments of field crops, horticultural crops and animal sciences respectively, except for the Department of Agricultural Economics. This result can be regarded that many graduates with the title of "Agricultural engineer" start their careers without a good understanding of the importance and characteristics of human resources due to the lack of this course in the curriculum of the departments they were graduated. For the compensation of this deficiency, we conclude that the Agricultural Extension and Communication course should be included in the curriculum of all departments as a compulsory course like many other core courses.
