This study discusses the theory of new social movements that have emerged since the late 1960s and continue to exist today. This approach developed to describe the new movements that occurred in the second half of the 20th century, unlike the American axis formed in the axis of resources, strategies and mobilization, represents the European axis of social movements and has been used as a very widespread framework for social movements, especially during the 1980s and 1990s. The theory of social movements, on the one hand, has become quite popular, and on the other hand, has been quite criticized by the historical-social precepts on the basis of both the epistemological-methodological position and the basis of the social resolution. In this study, the new theory of social movements will be discussed in the axis of the fundamental ideas aimed at social resolution. The content of this theory will then be studied through the actors, values, goals and approaches to the forms of organization of social movements. Finally, the fundamental criticism of this approach will be addressed.
