Abstract:

As an alternative measurement assessment tool, the portfolio is an instrument that assesses student success by a single criterion, not by one time within the process by different criteria. The aim of this study is to develop a degree score key to be used in the assessment of portfolios prepared in English courses. For this purpose, the scaned three themes of the relevant field and a scan key consisting of thirteen criteria for these themes have been prepared. The validity of the rating key is secured by the inspection of the content, structure and measurement aspects. Specialist opinion was requested to ensure the validity of the content of the rubric. The basic components were analyzed to determine the validity of the structure and found that 76.56% of the total variance was revealed. The portfolios discussed in the study were evaluated by two scorer. In the study of the harmony between the scorers, Cohen's Caps Cut was used. Accordingly, in the “pre-preparation” measurement .86; in the “pre-preparation” measurement .71; in the “self-recognition” measurement .76; in the “language knowledge and narration” measurement .81; in the “language learning strategies knowledge” measurement .86; in the “ listening skills strategies use” measurement .73; in the “read skills strategies use” measurement .77; in the “speaking skills strategies use” measurement .64; in the “writing skills strategies use” measurement .91; in the “creativity” measurement .75; in the “type” measurement .84; in the “writing and pointing” measurement .89 and in the “service” measurement .82 These values indicate that there is a very significant consensus between the scores.
