Sürgün, bir insanın isteği ve iradesi dışında istemediği bir coğrafyada yaşamaya sevk ve mecbur edilmesidir. İslam inancında Âdem ile Havva’nın, Hıristiyan inancında Edım ile Eva’nın cennetten dünyaya sürgünü nasıl bütün insanlığın kaderini etkilediyse, sürgün cezaları da muhatap şair ve yazarların hayatlarını, kaderlerini, eserlerini ve hatta ailelerinin istikballerini bile etkilemiştir. Denilebilir ki sürgüne maruz kalan şair ve yazarların eserleri ile anıları, bir sürgün edebiyatı külliyatı oluşturacak denli zengindir. Bu yazı rastgele örneklem yoluyla seçilen yirmi iki isimden oluşan yazar ve şairin, dönemin siyasileri veya işgal güçleri eliyle açıkça ya da gizli sürgün denebilecek, devlet görevi vermek suretiyle merkezden taşraya veya değişik yerlere sürgün edilmelerini yahut ülkelerinde gözden düştükleri, siyasi ve idari baskı gördükleri için kendi istekleriyle bir çeşit gönüllü sürgüne gitmelerini, sürgün gerekçelerini, sürgün yıllarını nasıl değerlendirdiklerini konu almaktadır. Kitap çalışmamızdan süzdüğümüz yazımızda hacim kaygısıyla, yazar ve şairlerin kısa bilgilerle geçiştirilen sürgün gerekçeleri ve sürgünden etkilenme biçimleri ile sanat yahut edebiyat ve siyaset arasındaki zaruri ilişkinin de boyutları irdelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Devletlerin savaştığı ve işgal edildiği, olağanüstü koşulların egemen olduğu yıllarda, vatansever yazar ve şairlerin işgalci güçlerin varlığı ve baskısından nasıl etkilendikleri de yazının yanıt aradığı sorulardandır.

Exile is a situation which one is forced and dispatched to live in a geography out of his or her will. How the exile from heaven to earth of Adem and Havva in Islamic belief, and Adam and Eve in Christian belief influenced the destiny of all humanbeing, so influenced the works , destinies, lives and even their families' future of those acceptor poets and writers in the same way. One can easily state that the works and memories of the poets and writers, who were to face exile , are so rich to creat collected works of its own. This article is subject to twenty two names of poets and writers that randomly chosen as being samples of how they did in their exile years, the truth of the exile, their volunteer exile due to political and administrative pressure, being exiled to suburbs or various places from hometown for some so-called goverment work by politicians or occupying forces of that time, either obviously or secretly. In our measured article , with capacity concern we have tried to scrutinize the dimensions of indispensable relationships between art-literature and policy together with the contagion ways of exile and its reality passed over with short knowledge of those writers and poets. It is also one of the questions that this article is seraching for an answer about how those patriotic writers and poets were influenced by occupation forces in those years, when states were at war and invaded over exceptional circumstances.
