Birinci Dünya Savaşından sonra Anadolu'nun itilaf devletlerince işgal edilmesi sonucu başlayan Kurtuluş Savaşı zaferle sonuçlanmış ve Anadolu düşman işgalinden kurtarılmıştı. Yeni kurulan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti her alanda olduğu gibi sağlık alanında da yaşanan ciddi sorunların çözümü için çalışmalara başladı. Bu kapsamda sağlık teşkilatının oluşturulması için gerekli olan kanunlar çıkarılarak uygulamaya konuldu. Ayrıca bulaşıcı hastalıklarla mücadele, koruyucu sağlık hizmetlerinin geliştirilmesi ve ihtiyaç duyulan sağlık personelinin yetiştirilmesi çalışmaları yapıldı. Iğdır 1920 yılında anavatana katılmasından sonra her alanda olduğu gibi sağlık alanında da çözülmesi gereken birçok sorunla karşı karşıya kalmıştı. Iğdır’da sağlık alanında yaşanan en önemli sorunların biri sağlık kurumları ve sağlık personelinin yetersizliği idi. Ayrıca Iğdır ve çevresinde bulaşıcı hastalıklarının olması da ayrı bir sorun idi. Bulaşıcı hastalıklardan sıtma hastalığı Iğdır ve çevresinde yaygın olarak görülmekteydi. Bu kapsamda ülkede sağlık sorunlarının çözümü için uygulanan politikalar ve yapılan yatırımlar Iğdır’da da etkisini göstermekteydi. Bu çalışma ile Iğdır’da 1923-1970 yılları arasında sağlıkla ilgili yaşanan sorunlar ve bu sorunlara getirilen çözümler açıklanmaya çalışılacaktır.
After the First World War, the War of Liberation, which began as a result of the occupation of Anatolia by the opposition states, ended with victory and was rescued from the enemy occupation of Anatolia. The newly established Republic of Turkey, as in all areas, began to work to solve serious problems in the field of healthcare. In this context, the laws required to establish a health institution have been implemented. The work was also carried out in the fight against infectious diseases, the development of protective health services and the training of the necessary health personnel. In 1920, Iğır had faced many problems that had to be solved in the field of health, as well as in all areas. One of the most important problems in the field of health in Iğdır was the lack of health institutions and health staff. It was also a separate problem that had infectious diseases around it. Infectious diseases were commonly seen around them. In this context, the policies and investments implemented to solve health problems in the country also showed their impact in Iğdır. In this study, we will try to explain the health-related problems between 1923-1970s and the solutions brought to these problems.
The War of Independence, which started as a result of the occupation of Anatolia by the Allied Powers after the First World War, resulted in victory and Anatolia was liberated from the enemy occupation. The newly established they started to work for the solution of the serious problems experienced in the field of health as well as the Republic of Turkey in every field. In this context, the laws required for the establishment of the health organization were enacted and implemented. In addition, studies were carried out to combat infectious diseases, to develop preventive health services and to train the needed health personnel. After joining the homeland in 1920, Iğdır faced many problems that need to be solved in the field of health as well as in every field. One of the most important problems in the field of health in Iğdır was the insufficiency of health institutions and health personnel. In addition, having infectious diseases in Iğdır and its surroundings was another problem. Malaria, one of the infectious diseases, was common in Iğdır and its surroundings. In this context, the policies and investments made for the solution of health problems in the country also showed their effects in Iğdır. With this study, the problems related to health and the solutions to these problems will be explained in Iğdır between 1923-1970.
