Abstract:

Üniversiteler, Kariyer Merkezleri ile katma değer yaratabilen, topluma faydalı, donanımlı, bilgi ve becerilerinin farkında olan, iş hayatının dinamiklerini bilen ve adapte olabilen bireyleri iş hayatına hazırlamak ve bu süreçte destek olmak amacıyla çeşitli faaliyetler gerçekleştirmektedir. Kariyer Merkezlerinin faaliyetleri ile eşgüdümlü olarak, Kariyer Planlama dersi 2020-2021 Eğitim ve Öğretim bahar yarıyılından itibaren lisans müfredatlarında yer almaya başlamıştır. Bu çalışmada, 2020-2021 Eğitim ve Öğretim yılında lisans müfredatına eklenen Kariyer Planlama dersini alan Yozgat Bozok Üniversitesi (YOBÜ) İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi birinci sınıf lisans öğrencilerinin kariyer kararı verme yetkinlikleri değerlendirilmiştir. Kariyer Planlama dersinin bulunduğu yarıyıl başında ve yarıyıl sonunda olmak üzere iki farklı zamanda veri toplanmıştır. “İş/Meslek Bilgisi”, “Kendini Tanıma”, “Kariyer Tercihi”, “Kariyer Planı Oluşturma Yolları” ve “Mesleki Konuları Takip Etme” boyutları incelenmiş yarıyıl başı ve sonu arasında öğrencilerin kariyer kararı verme yetkinliklerinin olumlu yönde değişim gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Kariyer Planlama dersinin lisans eğitimine yeni başlayan öğrenciler açısından dönem sonunda farkındalık yarattığı ve motive ettiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır

The Effect Of Career Planning Course On Career Decision-making Competency: A Research On Undergraduate Students

Abstract:

Career Centers carry out various activities within universities in order to prepare individuals who can create added value, be useful to the society, are well-equipped, aware of their knowledge and skills, know and adapt to the dynamics of business life, and support them in this process. In coordination with the activities of the Career Centers, the Career Planning course has started to be take place in the undergraduate curricula as of the 2020-2021 spring term. In this study, career decision-making competencies of first-year undergraduate students of Yozgat Bozok University (YOBU) the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, who took the Career Planning course added to the undergraduate curriculum in the 2020-2021 academic year, were evaluated. Data were collected at two different times, at the beginning of the term and at the end of the term, when the Career Planning course was held. The dimensions of "Job/Vocational Knowledge", "Self-Knowledge", "Career Preference", "Ways to Create a Career Plan" and "Following Professional Subjects" were examined. It was determined that the career decision-making competencies of the students changed positively between the beginning and the end of the term. It has been concluded that the Career Planning course creates awareness and motivates students who have just started their undergraduate education at the end of the term.
