Abstract:

This aggregation study included the theoretical foundations of the DIR/Floortime model presented in intervention to children with autism spectrum disorder especially in early childhood, the implementation stages, the basic structure, practical information and research. DIR/Floortime is an interference model that can be applied by both experts and families, based on relationships and structured on the individual differences of the child. Floortime is the intervention method of the model and is mainly aimed at developing the child’s functional, emotional development capabilities and elevating to the typical level of development through semi-structured games with the child. Following the leadership of the child during the games, art open and close communication cycles and create effective Floortime times with about 20-25 minutes of uninterrupted play times. There is no study in Turkey on the effect of DIR/Floortime on children with autism spectrum disorder. Study outside of Turkey has been studied and it has been observed that DIR/Floortime is a very effective method of intervention especially in the early period. The study is expected to be conducted by systematic use of this model. The aim of this collection is to keep the work to be done in light of the theoretical foundations in particular.
