Abstract:

Hama was under Ottoman rule in 1516, with the status of a sanjak that has taken place in the Ottoman provincial organizations. Sanjak of Hama, Homs in the early days of Suleiman the Magnificent's power combined with wide borders that has been turned into an administrative region. In the middle of the XVIth century detached again separated from Hama, Homs was a sanjak. Therefore, in the sanjak of Hama rural settlements has undergone a significant change of the geographical boundaries. In this regard, the boundaries of Hama in the first half of the XVIthcentury, consisted of Hama, Homs, Ma'arrat al-Nu‘man and Bârin districts, the second half of the same century, consisted of Hama, Bârin, Masyâf and Sheizer districts.In this study, to be used as a resource by tax registers XVIth century of the sanjak of Hama sitting here with township and village were studied to determine the rural population
