Abstract:

Continuing coronavirus disease pandemic (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), occurred in China and rapidly spread throughout the world. Thousands of cases and deaths are every day, and this is an exceptional situation where urgent intervention is required for many patients. COVID-19 cases are seen in all age groups, but death rates are high especially in the elderly with weakened immune system, in those with chronic illness, in cases of cancer that cause immune failure. The interaction between infections and the immune system is clear and many literary knowledge is available. Keeping the immune system strong, infections can be overcome with less damage, the harmful effects of inflammation and death rates can be reduced. Vitamins A, C and D are effective in the active functioning of the immune system, and their deficiencies lead to many negative conditions, including predisposition to infections. Although there is no specific treatment method for COVID-19 treatment, antiviral drug or proven reliability of the vaccine, medications recommended by the World Health Organization are used. The effectiveness and effectiveness of these medications should be discussed. In addition to these medications, alternative treatment approaches are needed. In this collection, information about the importance of vitamins A, C and D in SARS-CoV-2 patophysiology and the early application of high-dose intravenous (IV) C, oral A and D vitamins, which are alternative approaches to COVID-19 treatment.
