Ortaokul Öğrencilerinde Dijital Oyun Bağımlılığının Bazı Değişkenler Açısından İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Araştırma survey tarama modelinde bir araştırma olup, “ortaokulda okuyan öğrencilerin dijital oyun bağımlılıklarının bazı değişkenler açısından incelenmesi” amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Burdur ili Ağlasun ilçesi ortaokul öğrencileri, örneklem gurubu ise okullarda okuyan toplam öğrencilerin en az %20’si baz alınarak basit tesadüfi yöntemle belirlenmiş 216 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada veriler, betimsel kısım literatür taraması ile alandaki veriler ise anket yöntemiyle elde edilmiştir. Anket olarak Lemmens, Walkenburg ve Peter (2009) tarafından geliştirilen, Irmak ve Erdoğan (2015) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanmış Dijital Oyun Bağımlılığı (DOB-7) ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Anketler araştırmacı tarafından konu hakkında bilgi verildikten sonra gönüllülük esasına göre 104 erkek, 112 kadın olmak üzere toplam 216 katılımcıya doldurtulmuştur. Elde edilen veriler istatistik işlem için uygun istatistik programa aktarılmıştır. İstatistik işlem olarak tanımlayıcı istatistiklerden, frekens (f), yüzde (%), Descriptive, değişkenler arası farklılıkların tespiti için, Mann-Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis test işlemleri uygulanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen verilere göre, katılımcıların genel olarak, dijital oyun bağımlılık düzeylerinin yüksek olmamakla birlikte, oyun bağımlılıklarının “orta” düzeyde olduğunu, oyunları günlük 1-3 saat aralığında ve akıllı telefon ve tabletle oynadıklarını, oyun türü olarak kadınların, erkelere göre daha çok, strateji ve simülasyon oyunları, erkeklerinde kadınlara göre, yarış ve spor oyunları ve  çevrim içi rol yapma oyunları oynadıklarını, oyun oynama süresi ile bağımlılık arasında anlamlı bir farklığın olduğunu, oyun oynama süresi arttıkça bağımlılığında arttığını söyleyebiliriz.

Review of Digital Game Addiction in High School Students on Some Variables

Abstract:

The survey survey is a survey in the scan model, which was conducted with the aim of "studying the digital gaming addictions of middle school students in terms of some variables". The universe of the research is Burdur or Ağlasun district high school students, and the sample group consists of at least 20% of the total students studying in schools, based on the simple random method determined by 216 students. In the study, the data, the visual part of the literature scan and the data in the field were obtained by the survey method. The survey was developed by Lemmens, Walkenburg and Peter (2009) and used the scale of Digital Game Addiction (DOB-7) adapted to Turkey by Irmak and Erdoğan (2015). After the survey was provided by the researcher on the subject, according to the voluntary principle, a total of 216 participants, including 104 men and 112 women, were filled. The obtained data is transmitted to the appropriate statistical program for statistical processing. From the statistical process to identify statistics, frequency (f), percentage (%), Descriptive, for the detection of variables, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis test processes have been applied. According to the data obtained under the research, participants generally, although the levels of digital game addiction are not high, we can say that the game addiction is "mediate" level, they play games in a daily interval of 1-3 hours and with smartphones and tablets, women as a game type, more than men, strategy and simulation games, men as a woman, they play racing and sports games and online role-playing games, there is a significant difference between the gameplay time and addiction, the gameplay time increases and addiction increases.

The research is a survey survey model, and it was conducted with the aim of "examining the digital game addictions of secondary school students in terms of some variables".The population of the research consists of middle school students in the Ağlasun district of Burdur province, and the sample group consists of 216 students determined by simple random method based on at least 20% of the total students studying at schools.In the research, the data were obtained by the descriptive part of the literature review and the data in the field was obtained by the survey method. The Digital Game Addiction (DOB-7) scale developed by Lemmens, Walkenburg and Peter (2009) and adapted into Turkish by Irmak and Erdoğan (2015) was used as a questionnaire. After the researcher gave information about the subject, the questionnaires were filled in on a voluntary basis by a total of 216 participants, 104 men and 112 women. The obtained data were transferred to the appropriate statistical program for statistical processing. Descriptive statistics, frequency (f), percentage (%), Descriptive, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were applied to determine the differences between variables.According to the data obtained within the scope of the research, although the digital game addiction levels of the participants are not high in general, their game addiction is at a "moderate" level, they play the games between 1-3 hours a day and with smart phones and tablets, as the type of game, women are more likely to be compared to men. We can say that men play racing and sports games and online role-playing games compared to women.
