Tüketim toplumu, bugün yürürlükte olan toplum yapısının, yapılan birçok tanımlamalarından sadece bir tanesidir. Tüketim toplumu denilince akla gelen ‘tüketme’ edimi bu toplumsal formasyonu açıklamakta yetersizdir. Çünkü tüketme, salt bir ihtiyaç karşılamadan öte kültürel bir değer üretimini ve yeniden-üretimini de içerimlemektedir. Dolayısıyla bireyi ve toplumu doğrudan etkileyen ve biçimlendiren bir yapıyı ifade etmektedir. Tüketim toplumu ve tüketici bireye ilişkin birçok eleştirel bakış açısı geliştirilmiştir. Bir anlatı türü olarak sinema da, kendine özgü anlatım süreci ile eleştirel bakış açısına katkı sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışma kapsamında Fight Club filminin tüketim toplumuna yönelik geliştirdiği eleştirel bakış açısı incelenmiştir. Çalışmada göstergebilimsel çözümleme yöntemi uygulanmıştır.
Consumer society is just one of the many definitions of the current social structure. When consumer society is called, the "consumption" action is insufficient in explaining this social formation. For consumption also involves the production and re-production of a cultural value beyond the satisfaction of a mere need. Therefore, it represents a structure that directly affects and shapes the individual and society. Many critical views on consumer society and consumer individual have been developed. As a type of narrative, the cinema also contributes to its own narrative process with a critical perspective. In this study, the critical perspective developed by the Fight Club film towards the consumer society has been studied. In the study, the method of indicative analysis was applied.
