Teaching Turkish to foreigners in Turkey, which has become widespread in the last ten years but dates back to 1980s, gradually becomes more important. After the studies had been carried out at Centres for Turkish Studies in different universities, they were formed as Turkey Scholarship. This structure can be maintained the development due to support of some establishments; Yunus Emre Institution is one of them. It can be seen that teaching Turkish is not only a foreign language teaching but also concern with the importance of religious, cultural and social adaptations for the international students. The cultural and religious perceptions and also some formal and informal knowledge about Islam -whose foreign students’ have when they are just in Turkey- are the factors that affect Turkish teaching process. were asked 4 open-ended questions and their culture and religion perceptions were tried to be examined; in addition that, their statements about culture and religion throughout the A2 course were reported by their teachers. The religious perceptions and faiths and also the prior knowledge about Turkish culture of the students in the study group were determined through document analysis.
