Türkiye’de 1982 yılına kadar ilk ve orta öğretim okullarının öğretmen ihtiyacı esas olarak Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı öğretmen yetiştiren yükseköğretim kurumları mezunlarından karşılanmakla beraber, özellikle ortaöğretim branş öğretmeni ihtiyacının karşılanmasında öğretmenlik formasyonu derslerini almış üniversite mezunlarından da yararlanılmıştır. Eğitim fakülteleri dışındaki fakültelerden mezun olanların pedagojik formasyon eğitimine tâbi tutulduktan sonra ortaöğretim kurumlarına branş öğretmeni olarak atanması uygulaması günümüzde de devam etmektedir. 1979 yılından başlayarak günümüze kadar uygulanan pedagojik formasyon programlarını karşılaştırmalı olarak inceleyerek tarihsel süreç içerisinde programlarda meydana gelen değişimi ortaya koymayı amaçlayan bu araştırmada doküman incelemesi yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda 1979 yılında MEB tarafından hazırlanan ilk standart pedagojik formasyon programından başlayarak 1997 yılına kadar programların geliştirilmeye çalışıldığı; 1997 yılında hazırlanan üç yarıyıllık tezsiz yüksek lisans düzeyinde pedagojik formasyon programının alana özgü öğretmenlik bilgi ve becerileri kazandırmaya yönelik dersler, uygulamalı ders saatleri ve okul uygulamalarına ayrılan yer gibi özellikleri açısından nitelikli branş öğretmeni yetiştirmeye imkan verecek şekilde düzenlendiği anlaşılmıştır. Ancak 2006 yılından başlayarak 2021 yılına kadar pedagojik formasyon programlarının içeriğindeki ders sayısı, toplam ders saati miktarı, uygulamalı ders saati miktarı, alana özgü bilgi ve beceri kazandırmaya yönelik ders miktarı ve öğretmenlik uygulamasına ayrılan süre gibi açılardan gittikçe zayıflatıldığı anlaşılmıştır.
In Turkey until 1982, the need for teachers of the first and secondary schools was primarily addressed by graduates of higher education institutions that educated teachers associated with the Ministry of National Education, especially from graduates of the university who received teaching formation courses in meeting the need for teachers of the secondary education branch. The application of graduates from faculties outside of the educational faculty after the pedagogical formation training was followed to the institutions of secondary education as branch teachers continues today. From 1979 to today, the method of document study was used in this study, which aimed at comparing the pedagogical formation programmes applied to the historical process to reveal the changes that occur in the programmes. The study found that the programs were attempted to develop from the first standard pedagogical training program prepared by MEB in 1979 until 1997; the three-semestral master-level pedagogical training program prepared in 1997 was organized in such a way that the courses aimed at providing the field-specific teaching knowledge and skills, the applied course hours and the place dedicated to school practices will enable the training of qualified branch teachers in terms of characteristics. However, from 2006 to 2021 it is understood that the number of courses in the content of the pedagogical training programs has been increasingly weakened in terms such as the total amount of lesson hours, the amount of applied lesson hours, the amount of courses aimed at providing the field-specific knowledge and skills and the time dedicated to the teaching practice.
