Bu çalışma İlköğretim 6. sınıf kademesinde bulunan öğrencilerin Sosyal Bilgiler dersi müfredatı içerisinde yer alan “Coğrafya ve Dünyamız” ünitesinde geçen Dünya ve Evren ile ilgili kavramları nasıl algıladıklarını belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Ankara ilinde eğitim vermekte olan 21 okuldan toplam 831 öğrenci çalışma kapsamı içerisinde yer almaktadır. Bu çalışma öğrencilerin “Dünya ve Evren” konusu ile ilgili yanlış kavramalarının tespiti için öğrencilere 24 sorudan oluşan bir anket uygulanmıştır. Veriler elde edildikten sonra, sonuçlar Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde “Dünya ve Evren” konularının öğretimine katkıda bulunması açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Anket ve literatürden elde edilen verilerden çıkarılan öneriler ise çalışmanın sonunda verilmiştir.

This study aims to determine how the sixth year students in primary education perceive the concepts - the Earth and the Universe that are mentioned in the unit “Geography and Our World”. 831 students have been chosen from the 21 primary schools in Ankara. First students have been given a questionnaire of 24 questions on the “World and Universe”. The data received have been evaluated for their contribution to Social Sciences classes in teaching concepts like the “Earth and Universe”. The suggestions made are given at the end of the study.
