Abstract:

The Covid-19 epidemic, which has affected the world for the last 3 years, has caused various transformations in all sectors. The Covid-19 epidemic, which has increased digitalization, has caused businesses and people to use digital technologies intensively. Situations such as mechanization, distance education, and the increase use of computers show the effectiveness of the classical approach in the Covid-19 pandemic process. Despite the classical approach, the Covid-19 epidemic has highlighted the value given to human beings through practices such as the implementation of flexible working hours in the public sector and the distribution of free masks to citizens. Therefore, the effects of the neoclassical approach, in which people are important, have been seen in the pandemic process. In addition, all the decisions taken to combat the pandemic during the epidemic affected all sectors. This shows that the systems approach is dominant. The pandemic process has ensured that organizations are in constant change to act by the pandemic conditions, and it has required access to new information, incorporating technology into business processes, and continuous learning to compete and survive. This has enabled organizations to incorporate a learning organization approach into their organizational culture. During the epidemic, many virtual organizations were established, strategic partnerships were made, outsourcing was applied in some sectors and total quality philosophy was adopted. From this point of view, it has been seen that the effects of the postmodern management approach dominate in the management approach of the pandemic process. This study, it is aimed to show the changes in management practices and understanding of the Covid-19 epidemic and to reveal the management approaches applied during the pandemic process.
