A good number of works were written by eastern and western historians about the Crusades that were undertaken between the 11th-13th centuries. Undoubtedly, the most important among these were the sources of the First Crusade (1096-1099). Also, there are eyewitnesses of the Crusades within these sources. Therefore, these guided works that will be written after them. Describing the First Crusade and the witnesses of the campaign, in three important works drawn image of the Turkish, constitute the subject of our study. These sources are Gesta Francorum et aliorum Hierosolimitanorum; Raimundus Aguilers, Historia Francorum qui Ceperunt Iherusalem; Fulcherius Carnotensis, Gesta Francorum Iherusalem peregrinantium. Above-mentioned works are important to mention the Turkish and the Crusader struggle, especially the relationships between the Seljuks and Crusaders and expressions related to Turks. By this means, I considered it appropriate to base our work on these three sources. In addition to this, while I am examining the works, I also made use of Latin text and English translation. Then, I have used to the other sources, books, or articles and thus I have created this article. My aim in this study is, revealing westerner perspectives on the Turks in the medieval age and evaluating the Turkish image in the light of this information.
