Bu çalışmanın amacı, okullarda dedikodu ve söylentinin nedenleri ve etkilerine ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Bu araştırmada, nicel ve nitel yöntemlerin birlikte kullanıldığı karma araştırma yöntemi ve karma yöntem içerisinde yer alan açıklayıcı ardışık desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel kısmının örneklemini, 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılı birinci döneminde İstanbul ili Esenyurt ilçesinde bulunan ve basit tesadüfi örneklem yöntemi ile seçilen 7 devlet okulu ve bu okullarda görev yapan 301 öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın nitel kısmının çalışma grubu ise yine aynı il ve ilçedeki devlet okullarında görev yapan 30 öğretmenden oluşmuştur. Araştırmanın nicel verilerinin toplanmasında “Dedikodu ve Söylenti Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmış olup, nitel veriler ise yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme sorularıyla toplanmıştır. Nicel verilerin analizi sonucunda dedikodunun nedenleri ve etkilerinin cinsiyet, medeni durum, öğrenim düzeyi ve yaş değişkenine göre anlamlı bir fark ortaya çıkmamıştır. Bununla birlikte gelir durumu, okulda toplam çalışılan süre ve meslekte çalışılan toplam süre değişkenlerine göre anlamlı ve istatistiksel farklılıklar saptanmıştır. Araştırmanın nitel bulgularında ise katılımcılar, dedikoduya maruz kalan öğretmenlerin derin üzüntü yaşadıklarını ve buna bağlı olarak psikolojik sorunlarla baş etmek zorunda kaldıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Ayrıca katılımcılar, okullarda dedikodunun nedenleri arasında kıskançlık ve can sıkıntısını öne çıkarmışlardır.
The aim of this study is to study teachers’ opinions on the causes and effects of the rumors and rumors in schools. In this study, the explanatory consecutive pattern included in the karma research method where quantitative and qualitative methods were used together and in the karma method. The sample of the quantitative part of the study was formed by 7 state schools and 301 teachers in the first period of the 2018-2019 educational year located in Istanbul or Esenyurt district and selected by the simple random sample method. The work group of the qualification part of the study was composed of 30 teachers working in the same province and district public schools. In the collection of quantum data of the study, the "Dicode and Speech Attitude Scale" was used, and the qualitative data was collected with semi-configured interview questions. As a result of the analysis of quantum data, there was no significant difference between the causes and effects of the rumor according to gender, civil status, level of learning and age variable. However, the income status, the total time worked in the school and the total time worked in the profession variables have been determined significant and statistical differences. In the quality findings of the study, the participants pointed out that the teachers who were exposed to rumors were deeply sad and therefore had to deal with psychological problems. Participants also highlighted the reason for the rumors in schools, jealousy and discomfort.
