The female representation in the cinema has been shaped with an eril perspective throughout the film history. Traditional atherical social gender patterns formed by female representations and role models for both female and male spectators have continued to be established. The films produced by female directors, in line with their efforts to produce alternative speech, have become the focus of interest of feminist research. It is an important question in terms of the feminist criticism whether the female directors act within the eril speech, whether the forms of dealing with the female representations differ from the paternal understanding and whether they create a awareness of the secondary position of the female in the paternal social system. In this context, the film "Pandora's Box" by the female director Yeşim Ustoğlu, which emerged in the 2000s, is the subject of the study.
