Abstract:

To carry out a smooth transportation process in road transportation, it is necessary to pay attention to the functional structure of the vehicles to be used. In this direction, it is of great importance for logistics companies to determine the vehicle that is suitable for their strategies by considering these features during the selection of vehicles. This study, it is aimed to present various alternatives for the solution of the vehicle selection problem of a logistics company engaged in road transport by using the Multi-Criteria Decision Making models ENTROPY, TOPSIS, and ARAS methods. In this context, 5 criteria to be used for vehicle selection and 5 most preferred vehicle brands were determined in line with wide literature research. The findings revealed that the most important criterion in vehicle selection is after-sales services. Again, according to the criteria weights determined, it was concluded that the vehicle brands to be recommended in the first place are Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, respectively.
