Abstract:

This research was conducted with the aim of studying the views of pre-school teachers candidates on art activities in the framework of teaching practice. For this purpose, the research included 30 teachers candidates who agreed to participate voluntarily in the research among the teachers candidates who studied in the fourth class of the Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Pre-School Teaching Program. In the framework of the research, participants were applied a "Semi-Structured Interview Form" developed by researchers. The interview form includes questions for the pre-school teacher candidates to identify the contribution of art activities to children, the types of activities they participate most in the teaching practice and the activities they do in the context of art activity, the difficulties and suggestions they encounter in the practice of art activity. The data obtained from the research was analyzed by imagistic analysis. The research finds that pre-school teachers candidates indicate that art activities contribute to the diversified development of children, that they participate in activities aimed at developing smaller muscle skills, that material supply, time limitation and problems in finding the activity are the obstacles to the art activity. They also expressed their opinion that the integration of art activities with other activities will contribute to the implementation of art activities, providing materials to the school and providing more space for art courses in the bachelor’s education.
