In this study, it was carried out to examine the effects of elemental sulfur application just before planting on plant growth, nutrition, and fruit yield and quality in spring tomato cultivation in soil with calcareous and high pH value. Sulfur treatment decreased soil pH (3.52%) and salinity (35.19%). The plant height and amount of chlorophyll in the leaf increased. Depending on the sulfur applications, the exchangeable potassium, exchangeable magnesium, available phosphorus, available manganese, and available copper contents of the soil increased. While the zinc content in the leaves increased, the potassium content decreased. While the calcium content of the fruit decreased, the potassium and iron content increased. The yield of 1st quality fruit increased by 18.18% in the S1 application, while the yield of 2nd quality fruit decreased by 48.72%. In addition to the increase in yield, fruit firmness and vitamin C content increased in terms of fruit quality, and many other quality criteria were preserved. The C* value of the fruit color decreased. Especially the increase in yield is very important in terms of spring tomato cultivation. In addition, road resistance and shelf life improve with the increase in fruit firmness, while the marketing value of the darker tomatoes increases. The effects of sulfur applications on tomato plants grown in greenhouses in calcareous soil in different seasons and on the development of other plants should be examined.
