Abstract:

Aim: While organizing and providing care, nurses use a systematic nursing process. This study aims to form and use a technology-based nursing process presented systematically with the understanding that the nursing process will be the basis in nursing services.. Material and Methods: The study was carried out in June 2010-June 2013 in İzzet Baysal Public Hospital affiliated with Bolu Municipal Public Hospitals Union. First, the academician nurses gave two days of training to the clinical nurses on the subject. After the nursing process trainings were completed, a conversion plan was prepared in order to be integrated into patient care. Results: Preparations for the conversion plan were completed in 2011; patient evaluation forms were revised, a guidebook for the nursing process care plan was prepared and good practices of nursing processes were digitized. Good practice nursing processes were developed and the technology-based nursing care process including nursing diagnostics, aims/expected results and nursing implementations was identified in the automatisation system and patient files.. Conclusion: Following the conversion plan implementation in the hospital clinics, positive results were observed such as use of computer-supported nursing process, formation of evidence basis for nursing services, provision of effective communication in the health team, saving time in patient care and decreasing work load.
