Bu çalışmanın amacı Balcı ve Yılmaz (2002) tarafından geliştirilmiş olan iyimserlik ölçeğinin geçerlik ve güvenirlik analizlerinin yapılarak güncellenmesidir. Çalışma grubu 18 - 27 yaş arası Orta ve Doğu Karadeniz bölgesinde iki üniversitede öğrenim gören 765 öğrencilerinden meydana gelmiştir (x̄=24,45 SS= 2,41). Ölçme aracının yapı geçerliği açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri ile incelenmiştir. Uyum geçerliğinin test edilmesinde ise, otantik mutluluk ve sevginin anlamına ilişkin ölçümlerden faydalanılmıştır. Güvenirlik analizleri ise iç tutarlık ve test yarılama yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda ölçme aracının tek faktörlü yapısı 19 madde ile sağlanmıştır. Çalışmanın doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda ise, iyimserlik ölçeğinin tek bileşenli yapısı doğrulanmış ve ölçme aracının kabul edilebilir sınırlarda uyum iyiliği değerlerine sahip olduğu görülmüştür (χ2 /df = 3,97, p < ,000, GFI=,88, AGFI=,84, IFI=,89, CFI=,89, RMR= ,05 RMSEA=,08, SRMR=,68). Bununla birlikte korelasyon analizlerden ulaşılan sonuçlar da ölçme aracının uyum geçerliğini sağladığını ortaya koymuştur. Cronbach alfa iç tutarlık katsayısının ,91 olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Buradan hareketle iyimserlik ölçeğinin geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The purpose of this study is to update the scale of optimism developed by Balcı and Yılmaz (2002) by conducting validity and reliability analyses. The study group consisted of 765 students studying at two universities in the Middle and Eastern Black Sea region between 18 and 27 years of age (x̄=24,45 SS=2,41). The structural validity of the measurement tool has been studied by the analytics of the opening and verifying factors. In testing the validity of conformity, the measurements on the meaning of authentic happiness and love were used. The reliability analysis is studied by internal consistency and test half-methode. The one-factor structure of the measurement tool is provided by 19 items as a result of the opening factor analysis. As a result of the verifying factor analysis of the study, the one-component structure of the optimism scale has been verified and the measurement instrument has compatibility well values within acceptable limits (χ2 /df = 3,97, p < ,000, GFI=,88, AGFI=,84, IFI=,89, CFI=,89, RMR= ,05 RMSEA=,08, SRMR=,68). However, the results obtained from the correlation analysis also showed that the measurement tool is compatible. The Cronbach alpha internal consistency ratio is 91. From here it has come to the conclusion that the scale of optimism is a valid and reliable measurement tool.
