Bu çalışmanın amacı Şanlıurfa’da yüksek miktarda üretilen yerli İsot biberinin üretim, kurutma, işleme ve paketleme aşamalarında çalışan sigara içen ve içmeyen işçilerin kapiller kan oksijen saturasyonu ile bazı solunum, dolaşım ve metabolik değerler üzerindeki etkilerini araştırmaktır. Araştırma, yaşları 20-45 arasında değişen, herhangi bir maddeye maruziyeti bulunmayan 30 kişilik kontrol grubu ile İsot biberinin kurutma, öğütme, işleme ve paketleme aşamalarında çalışan ve sadece İsot tozuna maruz kalan 30 ve hem İsot tozuna maruz kalıp hem de sigara içen 30 işçinin oluşturduğu gruplardan olmak üzere toplam 90 kişi üzerinde yürütüldü. Dolaşım parametrelerinden vücut sıcaklığı, sistolik ve diastolik tansiyon ile nabız ölçümleri, solunum parametrelerinden FVC (Zorlu Vital Kapasite), FEV1 (Birinci Saniyedeki Zorlu Ekspiratuar Volüm), FVC/FEV1% (Zorlu Vital Kapasite/Birinci Zaniyedeki Zorlu Expiratuar Volüm-Tiffeneau İndeks) ve VC (Vital Kapasite), vücut kompozisyon parametrelerinden vücut yağ ve su oranı, kas ve kemik kütle ile kapiller kan oksijen satürasyonu gibi parametrelerin ölçümleri yapıldı. İsot tozu maruziyeti ve İsot tozu + sigara maruziyeti gruplarının kontrol grubuyla FVC, FEV1, FVC/FEV1%, VC ve kapiller kan oksijen satürasyonu yönünden karşılaştırıldığında istatistiksel olarak önem (p<0.05) arz eden sonuçlarımızın literatür bildirimleriyle uyumlu olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışmamız sonucunda İsot biberinin üretim, kurutma, işleme ve paketleme aşamalarında çalışan işçilerin solunum fonksiyonlarının olumsuz etkilendiği belirlenmiştir.
The study aims to investigate the effects of Isot pepper on the capillary blood oxygen saturation and some respiratory, circulatory and metabolic parameters of the smoking and non-smoking workers, who work in the production, drying, processing and packaging stages of domestic Isot pepper. The research was carried out in 90 individuals aged between 20-45 years, and divided into three groups: 30 of them had not been exposed to any substance and belonged to control group, 30 of them were workers working in the production process of Isot pepper and they had only been exposed to Isot powder, and 30 of them were smoking workers, who had also been exposed to Isot pepper powder. Circulatory parameters such as body temperature, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, pulse, respiratory parameters such as FVC, FEV1, FVC/FEV1% and VC, and body composition parameters such as body fat, body water ratio, muscle mass and bone mass and capillary oxygen saturation were measured. As a result of our study, Isot pepper was found to have adverse effects on the respiratory functions of workers working in the production process.
