Purpose: This study was aimed at evaluating the impact of body control and body control exercises, which play an important role in the performance of motor functions of children with spastic duplexic cerebral palsy (SP), on muscle strength and balance. Method: 40 children with spastic duplexic SP with levels I, II and III according to the Hard Motor Function Classification System (KMFSS) were included in the study, their ages varied from 3 to 10 years. The children were divided into two groups as an exercise and control group. In addition to conventional physiotherapy programs for 6 weeks, which lasted 2 days and 45 minutes a week, the exercise group applied the body-control Neuroscientific Therapy - Bobath (NGT-Bobath) program. The control group continued the conventional physiotherapy programs, which lasted 2 days and 45 minutes a week. There was no intervention in the current treatment program of the control group. At the beginning and 6 weeks later, the Pediatric Berg Balance Scale, the Body Control Scale, was applied to the groups. The body muscle strength of children was also assessed. Results: After treatment, the difference was found in the results of the Pediatric Berg Balance Scale between the exercise group and the control group and in the body’s muscle strength to the benefit of the exercise group (p<0.05). Also, after the treatment of the exercise group; Body Control Measurement Scale, Pediatric Berg Balance Scale and the strength of all body muscles showed significant improvement compared to the previous treatment (p<0.05). Result: This study showed that adding body-to-body exercises to the classic physiotherapy and exercise program in children with SP increases muscle strength and positively affects the balance.
