Kıbrıs adası jeo-stratejik konumu nedeniyle bölgesinde büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu nedenle tarih boyunca mücadelelerin odağı olmuştur. Yüzyıllarca Türk egemenliğinde yaşamış olan adanın Türkiye için önemi ise hem güvenlik açısından hem de orada bulunan Türkler açısından çok daha fazladır ve vazgeçilmez niteliktedir. Çalışmamız, bahsedilen tarihsel süreçte Kıbrıs’ta Türkler, İngilizler ve Rumlar arasında yaşananların kronolojik bir özetini içermekte ve çeşitli arşiv belgelerinin değerlendirilmesi, Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyetinin Kurucu Cumhurbaşkanı Rauf Raif Denktaş ile yapılan söyleşi ve TMT Mücahit’i Kemal Abdullah’ın anıları aracılığıyla, Kıbrıs konusundaki araştırmalara katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır
Because of its geo-strategic position, Cyprus Island has an important place in its region. For that reason it has been the heart of the struggles. The importance of the Island, that had been under Turkish rule for centuries, for Turkey is essential and indispensible for both the security and the Turkish population living over there. Our work aims to contribute the investigations in Cyprus issue including the chronological summary of the relations between Turkish, British and Greeks in the historical perspective and the evaluation of the various achive documents, an interview with the founder president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the memories of the TMT warrior
