Ampirik analiz neticesinde beşeri sermayenin ekonomik büyüme üzerinde pozitif yönde etkisi olduğunun tespit edildiği bu çalışma Dr.Derya Kazancıgil’in "Beşeri Sermaye Ekonomik Büyüme İlişkisi,Türkiye Örneği" isimli Doktora tezinden üretilmiştir.
The concept of human capital emerged by the lack of physical capital in explaining economic growth. Human capital represents the qualities of the labour force such as knowledge, skills, abilities. Economic growth is the increase in goods and services produced within the country over time. Economists have been interested in economic growth since Adam Smith. But growth models and theories were among the important topics of the economy after World War II. The long-term relationship between human capital and economic growth in Turkey is studied by GDP, employment, gross electricity consumption, education and health index data from 1975 to 2016. Human capital is represented by the educational index consisting of the number of students in primary-mediate-higher education and the share allocated from GDP to the Ministry of Health budget, the health index consisting of the number of doctors and patients beds. As a result of the empirical analysis, this study, in which human capital has a positive impact on economic growth is found, is produced from Dr. Derya Kazancıgil's "Human Capital Economic Growth Relationship,Turkish Example" PhD thesis.
