Özet:

Abstract Introduction: Decentralization and municipalization of Health Surveillance are one of the precepts of the single health system; for this aim, it is known that the management conditions that the municipalities experience can interfere in the actions to be carried out. Objective: To describe the profile of Health Surveillance in the VI Health Region of Pernambuco. Method: This is a study with a descriptive quantitative approach, with secondary data. The data are part of a questionnaire developed and applied by the Health Surveillance department of the VI Regional Health Management. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, presented in a table. Results: All municipalities have a coordinator, the majority of whom are effective and have higher education in the health area. They have an incomplete team; however, most of them are trained in the Basic Health Surveillance Course. They hold a monthly team meeting, elaborate an annual action planning and evaluate their own indicators; they do not participate in the expenses of the Qualification Program for Health Surveillance Actions. They work with a health surveillance system, issue an operating license, do not work with a health code, and their main activities are inspections. They have adequate physical space, with the necessary materials, and the greatest difficulty is transportation. Conclusions: Understanding the profile of the municipal Visa is essential for growth and management efficiency. Visa is still going through unfavorable situations due to decentralization, but the information shown in the study shows progress.
