Mekân, hikâye ve roman dünyasının temel unsurlarından biridir. Nihayetinde her anlatıda bir vak’a akışı, vakanın cereyan ettiği bir zaman ve buna sahne olan bir mekân vardır. Modern dönemlerde mekâna ontolojik, psikolojik ve felsefi anlamlar da yüklenmiş, hikâye ve roman incelemelerinde insan-mekân-olay ilişkilerine bu yeni bakış açısıyla yaklaşılmıştır. Mustafa Kutlu, 1968’de yayımlanan O hikâyesinden itibaren, Beşleme diye tabir edilen hikâye dizisinde ve sonuncusu 2018’de yayımlanan Sevincini Bulmak hikâyesine kadar yayımlanmış otuz hikâye kitabında gösterdiği sanatkârlığın yanı sıra, mekân unsurunu kullanış şekliyle de dikkatleri çekmiş bir yazardır. Yazarın 2009 senesinde yayımlanmış olan Tahir Sami Bey’in Özel hayatı isimli hikâyesi, ilk bakışta sıradan bir hayatı ele alması bakımından, yazarın diğer toplumcu-gerçekçi yapıtlarını anımsatmaktadır. Fakat hikâyenin içine girdikçe bu anlatıyı diğerlerinden farklı kılan iki unsurla karşılaşılmaktadır. Bunlardan ilki anlatım tekniği, diğeri de mekân kullanımındaki yoğunluktur. Öyle ki daha kurmacanın başında, hikâye kahramanı mekân üzerinde bir sorgulamaya girişerek, insan, hayat ve mekân kavramlarının birbirini tamamlayıcı yönüne dikkat çekmiştir. Hikâyede üç nesil boyunca bir ailenin geçim kaynağı olan ciltçilik mesleğinin değişen hayatımızla birlikte ailenin son halkasını oluşturan Tahir Sami Bey’in döneminde bütünüyle ortadan kalkması, bir medeniyet değişiminin dar anlamdaki çarpıcı ifadesidir. Bu çalışmamızda insanın mekânla olan ontolojik bağı, mekândan yola çıkarak karakter çözümlemeleri, modernizmin toplumsal hayata getirdiği değişim ve dönüşüm, insan-mekân etkileşimi bağlamında ele alınacaktır.
The place is one of the basic elements of the world of story and novel. At the end, in every story there is a flow to a vak, a time where the vacancy grows, and a place where it is a scene. In modern times, the space has been loaded with ontological, psychological and philosophical meanings, and in the history and novel studies it has been approached to the human-space-event relations with this new perspective. Mustafa Kutlu, from his story published in 1968, is an author who has attracted the attention of his artistic performance in the story series called Five and the last one published in 2018 to the story of Thirty Stories, as well as the way of using the space element. The author's 2009 novel, Tahir Sami Mr.'s Private Life, reminds the author's other socialist-realistic works in terms of addressing a ordinary life at first glance. But when it comes into the story, it encounters two elements that make this story different from the others. The first of these is the story technique, the second is the intensity of the space use. Thus, at the beginning of the plot, the hero of the story entered a question on the space, attracting attention to the complementary side of the concepts of man, life and space. Three generations in the story, the total disappearance of the family’s last ring, Tahir Sami Mr. with the changing life of a family’s survival source, is a striking expression of a civilization change in the narrow sense. In this work, the ontological bond of man with space, the discernment of character from space, the change and transformation that modernism brings to social life, the human-space interaction, will be addressed in the context.
Space is one of the basic elements of the story and novel world. Ultimately, in every narrative there is a flow of a case, a time when the incident takes place, and a place where it is the scene. In modern times, space has also been loaded with ontological, psychological and philosophical meanings, and human-space-event relations have been approached with this new perspective in story and novel studies. Mustafa Kutlu is a writer who has attracted attention with the way he uses the space element, as well as his artistry in thirty story books published since the O story published in 1968, to the story series called Beşleme and to the story of Sevincini Find published in 2018. The story of the author, Tahir Sami Bey's Private Life, which was published in 2009, at first glance, resembles the author's other socialist-realist works in terms of handling an ordinary life. However, as we enter the story, two elements that make this narrative different from the others are encountered. The first is the narrative technique and the other is the intensity of the use of space. So much so that at the very beginning of the fiction, the hero of the story attempts to question the space, drawing attention to the complementary aspects of the concepts of human, life and space. In the story, the disappearance of the bookbinding profession, which was the livelihood of a family for three generations, during the period of Tahir Sami Bey, who formed the last link of the family with our changing lives, is a striking expression of a civilization change in a narrow sense. In this study, the ontological connection of human with space, character analysis based on space, the change and transformation that modernism brings to social life will be discussed in the context of human-space interaction.
