Abstract:

The purpose of this article is to provide a general assessment, by examining in detail the methods, findings and policies of existing research on the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic on the economy, and by showing these effects with the graphs of the time series of the top 10 countries most widely seen. The study examines the economic effects of the epidemic within the framework of the prepared literature and discusses the policy recommendations proposed to reduce these effects. According to the prepared literary research, COVID-19-related deaths and negative macroeconomic indicators also show economic impacts. These negative economic impacts are studied specifically in financial markets, exchange rates, public spending and energy prices. These reviews provide clues for a better understanding of policy recommendations to be used in the fight against COVID-19. More policy coordination at national and international levels limits the negative economic effects of COVID-19.
