Abstract:

SUMMARY This experimental study was peiformed to determine the effeets of intraartieular hyaluronie acid (HA) and methyl prednisolone acetate (MPA) in inflammatory arthritis. 0.2 ml 1% formaline wereinjeeted to the posterı'or right knee joints of 40 male rats. One week after the injeetions, 10 rats werekilled and arthritis was determined histopathologieally. The remained 30 rats were divided to three groups. First group received intraarticularly 0.05 ml HA (HA group), second group 0.05 ml MPA (MPA group) and third group 0.05 ml saline as controls. The injections were performed at 7., 14. and 21. d-ays after the arthriris. 15 days after the end of these treatments, rats were killed and sections were examined his/opa/hologically. There was no significantly differenee in synovial tissue healing between HA and control groups (p>O.OS). Synovial tissue healing was significantly high in NlPA group compared to the control group (pO.OS). it was concluded that although intraarticular MPA seems more effective on synovial tissue healing in inflammatory arthritis it has no evident superiority to HA. Key Words: Experimental arthritis, synovial tissue, hyaluronic acid, methyl prednisolone aeetale.

Abstract:

An intranicular study was conducted to investigate the effects of hyaluronic acid (HA) and methyl prednisolone acetate (MPA) treatments on inflammatory arthritis. Experimental arthritis was created by giving 0.2 ml of 1% fonaline into the arthritis of 40 men's back knee joints. A week after the drug was given, 10 rates were killed and arthritis was identified histopathically. The remaining 30 runs were equal to 3 groups. The first group was given 0.05 ml of intraarticular HA (HA group), and the second group 0.05 ml of intraarticular MPA (MPA group). The third group was formed by intraarticular 0.05 ml serum physiological. Treatment of arthritis after the formation 7. Day 14th. Day and day. The day was implemented. 15 days after the completion of these treatments, rats were killed and the samples taken were studied histopathologically. The study found that there was no significant improvement in the sinovical tissue by treatment of HA (p>O.05). In the MPA group, the sinovical tissue healing was significantly high compared to the control group (p<0.05). However, when both treatment groups met, there was no significant difference between the MPA and HA group (p>0.05). Although the intraarticular application of MPA in the treatment of inflammatory arthritis appears to be more effective in the healing of the sinovical tissue, the conclusion is that it has no clear advantage over HA.
