Abstract:

AN UNKNOWN TEXT ABOUT OTTOMAN MILITARY ORGANIZATION “A PAMPHLET ABOUT HEARTH OF JANISSARIES CIRCUMSTANCES” (SCRUTINY AND TRANSLATION) The documents which belong to janissarries were attempted to be destroyed while the Hearth of Janissaries was abolished. Thus, very few documents could be accomplished to reach today. For this reason every certificate which gives information about janissary organization and laws is very important for researchers studying this subject. A small pamphlet in Suleymaniye Library, Esad Efendi nr. 3622-03 and recorded in the library's catalogue with the name “A pamphlet about Hearth of Janissaries circumstances” gives details about janissarry laws and construction incident made in the Heart of Janissaries which were made in the reign of Kanuni. The text not used by any researcher up to now calls attention in terms of including different knowlodge about both the Hearth of Janissaries and janissaries laws.
