Fars edebiyatının önemli yapıtlarından biri olarak kabul edilen, kahramanlık ve destansı olayları ele alan Şehname İslam dünyasının en çok tanınan ve okunan eserlerinden birisidir. Firdevsi tarafından İran’da yazılmaya başlanan kitabın çok sayıda kopyası süslenmiş ve metinde anlatılan çok sayıda konu resimlendirilmiştir. Bu bakımdan kıymetli kitap özelliği taşıyan Firdevsi Şehnamesi, Osmanlı hükümdarları tarafından da beğeni ile okunmuş ve kütüphanelerinde bulundurulmuştur. Gelişen süreçte kimi Osmanlı Sultanları atalarının veya kendi Şehnamelerini hazırlatırken kimisi de Firdevsi Şehnamesi’nin tercümesini yaptırmıştır. Bu tercüme eserlere kimi zaman kitabı hazırlatan sultanın beğenisi doğrultusunda yeni bölümler eklenmiştir. Böylece ilgili Osmanlı Sultanının şehnamesine dönüşen kitap Sultanın kendini anlatma veya kendisinden bahsetme aracı da olmuştur. Günümüze gelen örneklerine bakıldığında şehname, edebi bir eser olma özelliği taşımasının yanı sıra kitap sanatları açısından da önemli bir yere sahiptir. Yurtiçinde ve yurtdışında birçok kütüphane, müze ve özel koleksiyonda gerek Firdevsi’ye ait Şehnamenin farklı yazarlar tarafından istinsah edilen örnekleri, gerek başka isimlerle hazırlanan nüshaları, gerekse orijinal eserin tercümeleri mevcuttur. Çalışmanın konusunu oluşturan ve Derviş Hasan Medhi’ye ait olan Tercüme-i Şâhnâme-i Firdevsî adlı eser Paris Bibliotheque Nationale'de yer almaktadır. Cilt, ebru, resim ve tezhip sanatına dair örnekleri barındıran el yazması, çalışma kapsamında Osmanlı kitap sanatları açıdan incelenmiştir. Eserde yer alan cilt, tezhip, ebru ve resim örnekleri dönem, üslup özellikleri ve sanatçı bağlantıları açısından analiz edilmiştir.
It is considered one of the important works of Persian literature, and is one of the most well-known and read works in the Islamic world, which deals with heroic and distant events. Several copies of the book, which Firdevsi began to write in Iran, have been decorated and many subjects described in the text have been illustrated. In this regard, the Firdevsi Cehnamesi, which has a valuable characteristic of the book, was read with pleasure by the Ottoman rulers and kept in their libraries. In the progressive process, some of the Ottoman Sultan prepared their ancestors or their own witnesses, some also translated the Firdevsi witnesses. This translation works have sometimes been added in new chapters according to the favour of the sultan who prepared the book. Thus, the book, which became the name of the Ottoman Sultan, was also the means of the Sultan to tell himself or to tell himself. When it comes to the present examples, it has an important place in literary art as well as in literary art. Many libraries, museums and private collections in the country and abroad include the examples of the city of Firdevsi, which are referred to by the different authors, the nishas prepared with other names, and the translations of the original work if necessary. The work, which forms the subject of the study and belongs to Derwish Hasan Medhi, is translated by Shâhnâme Firdevsî in the Paris Bibliotheque Nationale. Handwriting, which contains examples of the art of skin, ebru, painting and thesis, has been studied in the framework of the work of the Ottoman book arts. The skin, thesis, ebru and painting examples included in the work have been analyzed in terms of period, style characteristics and artistic connections.
Considered as one of the important works of Persian literature, Şehname, which deals with heroic and epic events, is one of the most known and read works of the Islamic world. Many copies of the book, which was written by Firdevsi in Iran, are decorated and numerous subjects described in the text are illustrated. In this respect, the Firedevsi Şehname, which has the feature of a valuable book, was read by Ottoman rulers with pleasure and for hide it in their libraries. During the developing period, while some Ottoman Sultans were preparing their ancestors or their own Şehnames, who made the translation of the Firedevsi Şehname too. New sections were added to these translated works in line with the appreciation of the Sultan who had prepared the book. Thus, the book, which became the Shahnameh of the related Ottoman Sultan, became an intermediary for the Sultan to explain himself or mention him. The Şehname that can look at the examples that come to our day, has an important place in terms of book arts as well as being a literary work. There are both the copies made by other authors, the copies made by other names, and translations of the original work in your library, museum and private collections at home and abroad. Tercüme-i Şâhnâme-i Firdevsî is located in Paris Bibliotheque Nationale. This work, in which there are examples of skin, marbling, painting and illumination art, was examined from the point of view of Ottoman book arts within the scope of the study. The volume, gilding, illumination, marbling and painting examples in the work, in terms of period, style features and artist samples were examined.
