Türk mitolojisinde doğadaki dağ, su, ateş, ağaç gibi doğal nesneler ile doğadaki kurt, at, ejder, kartal gibi bazı hayvanlar kutsal sayılmıştır. Bu nesne ve hayvanlar çerçevesinde kültler (inanışlar) oluşmuştur. Bu hayvanlar içinde kartal, Türk mitolojisinde, sosyal, dini ve sanat hayatında, devlet sembollerinde sıkça yer aldı. Aynı zamanda tüm Türk halklarının Şamanist motiflerinde de çok önemli bir yere sahip oldu. Kartal, Türk kültür ve mitolojisinde yüceliği, gücü, cesareti temsil eder. Kartalın diğer kuş türlerine göre çok yükseklerde uçması, onun gökle ilişkilendirilmesine sebep olmuş ve gökyüzü de Türk inancında ilahi kaynağın mekânı olarak düşünüldüğünden, kartal da bu bağlamda kutsal sayılmıştır. Yine bu bakımdan ve ayrıca cesareti ve savaşçılık özelliği bakımından Türk hükümdarları da zaman zaman kartal ile özdeşleştirilmiştir. Nitekim diğer Türk boylarında olduğu gibi günümüz Hakas Türklerinin de edebiyatlarında, sanatlarında, inanışlarında ve mitolojilerinde kartal ile ilgili motiflere sıklıkla yer verilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın konusu Hakas Türklerinin kartal kültü ile ilgili inanışlarıdır. Konunun çerçevesini Hakas Özerk Cumhuriyeti sınırları oluşturur. Çalışmada; gözlem, yabancı kaynakların tercümesi, yerli kaynakların toplanması ve elde edilen bilgilerin incelenerek yorumlanması metodu izlenmiştir.
In Turk mythology, natural objects such as mountains, water, fire, trees, and animals such as wolves, horses, dragons, and eagles are considered sacred. Cults (beliefs) were formed around these objects and animals. Among these animals, the eagle frequently appeared in Turk mythology, social, religious, artistic life, and state symbols. It also had a very important place in the Shamanistic motifs of all Turkic peoples. The eagle represents greatness, power, and courage in Turk culture and mythology. The fact that the eagle flies much higher than other bird species has caused it to be associated with the sky, and since the sky is considered the place of divine source in Turk belief, the eagle is also considered sacred in this context. In this respect, and also in terms of their courage and warriors, Turkic rulers were sometimes identified with the eagle. As a matter of fact, as in other Turk tribes, eagle-related motifs are frequently included in the literature, arts, beliefs, and mythologies of today's Khakas Turks. The subject of this study is the beliefs of Khakas Turks regarding the eagle cult. The framework of the subject is the borders of the Khakas Autonomous Republic. In the study, the method of observation, translation of foreign sources, collection of domestic sources, and examination and interpretation of the obtained information were followed.
