Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, sosyal hizmet bölümü öğrencilerinin sosyal çalışmacı kavramına ilişkin sahip oldukları algıları metaforlar aracılığıyla ortaya çıkarmak ve bu metaforları derinlemesine incelemektir. Çalışma Bingöl Üniversitesi Sosyal Hizmet bölümünde öğrenim gören 172 öğrencinin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri her öğrencinin, “Sosyal çalışmacı/ … gibidir/benzemektedir. Çünkü,…” cümlesini tamamlamasıyla elde edilmiştir. Veriler içerik analizi tekniğiyle çözümlenmiştir. Bu araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, öğrenciler sosyal çalışmacı kavramına yönelik olarak 72 farklı metafor üretmişlerdir. Bu metaforlar üzerinden ortak özellikleri dikkate alınarak altı farklı tema belirlenmiştir. Bu temalar ‘tedavi edici’, ‘dayanak noktası ve koruyucu’, ‘yol gösteren’, ‘yardımsever ve kurtarıcı’, ‘şefkat ve sevgi kaynağı’ ve ‘çok yönlü’ şeklindedir. Öğrencilerin sosyal çalışmacı için kullandıkları metaforlar genellikle sosyal çalışmacıların müracaatçı ile ilişkisi üzerinden yapıldığı ortaya çıkmaktadır. Ayrıca metaforlar genellikle sosyal çalışmacıların amaçları, rol ve işlevleri üzerinden kurgulanmıştır.

Abstract:

The main objective of this research is to reveal the perceptions that students of the social service department have about the concept of social workers through metaphors and to study these metaphors in depth. The study was conducted with the participation of 172 students studying in the Bingöl University's Social Service Department. The research data of each student is similar to "social worker/ ...". “It’s done by completing the phrase. The data is analyzed by content analysis technique. According to the results of this study, students produced 72 different metaphors towards the concept of social workers. Through the common characteristics of these metaphors, six different topics have been identified. These topics are in the form of ‘healing’, ‘resistant and protective’, ‘routing’, ‘helpful and savior’, ‘source of compassion and love’ and ‘multi-directional’. The metaphors that students use for the social worker often appear to be made through the social worker’s relationship with the contractor. Also, metaphors are often established on the purposes, roles and functions of social workers.

The main purpose of this study is to reveal the opinions of social work students about the social worker through metaphors and examine these metaphors in depth. The study was realised with the participation of 172 students studying at the social work department of Bingöl University. The data of this study was obtained by the answers that the students fill in the blanks of the sentence “A social worker is like/looks like... because ...”. The analysis of the data was done by the content analysis technique. According to the results of this study, students produced 72 different metaphors for the concept of social worker. Six different themes were identified by considering the common features of these metaphors. These themes are: ‘therapeutic’, ‘mainstay and protective’, ‘guiding’, ‘humanitarian and rescuer’, ‘a source of compassion and love’ and ‘versatile’. The metaphors used by the students for the social worker are generally made through the relationship of the social workers with the client. In addition, metaphors are generally based on the aims, roles and functions of social workers.
