Son dönemlerde aktif olarak rol oynayan finansal piyasalar, finansal varlıkların ticaretinin gerçekleştiği piyasalar olarak ifade edilebilir. Finansal piyasalar ülke ekonomisi içinde önemli fonksiyonları gerçekleştirmektedir. Yani, finansal araçların ve kurumların hem sayı olarak hem de işlev olarak artış göstermesi, ekonomideki işlem ve benzeri fonksiyonlarda ortaya çıkan maliyetleri azaltmaktadır. Bununla birlikte gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan etkin finansal piyasalar, ekonomide oluşan riski azaltarak, koruma altına alabilmekte ve korunmalarını desteklerken, ticaretlerini yapmalarını daha etkin hale getirmektedir. Bununla birlikte, yatırımları ve bu yönde ekonomik büyümeyi artırmaktadır. Finansal şirketlerin performanslarını çok kriterli karar verme yöntemlerinden Modifiye Edilmiş Dijital Mantık (MDL) ile kriter ağırlıkları hesaplanacak ve hesaplanan kriter ağırlıkları Gri İlişkisel Analiz (GİA) yönteminde uygulanarak şirket gruplarının performansı değerlendirilecektir.
