Özet:

Purpose: Cardiopulmonary arrest is called sudden and unexpected stopping of breathing and circulation for any reason. Early high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation is very important. This study aims to investigate the cardiopulmonary resuscitation knowledge levels and the factors that affect this and to make recommendations for increasing the success of resuscitation according to the results obtained from grade 4,5 and 6 students. Materials and Methods: In the 2018 - 2019 academic year, 161 students from 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade medical faculty students were included in the study. The study consisted of a questionnaire containing demographic information and 34 questions based on current guidelines. Results: The mean age of the participants was 23,3 years, 64% of them were female and 36% were male. 45,9% were 5, 30,8% were 4, and 23,3% were 6th-grade students. Intern doctors answered 20 questions and interns answered 18 questions correctly. Conclusion: Correct answer rate of interns 80,6%. It was 75.52% in 4th and 5th grade and these rates were statistically significant. This difference between classes is proof of how efficient the Emergency Medicine internship is. There was a significant relationship between the number of participants in resuscitation and the correct answers to the questions. This shows that the more practical the number, the more permanent the information is. Resuscitation from the occupational skills of students in medical school has an important place. All medical students and other staff should be given periodic cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
